Komatsu Germany`s (KG) hydraulic excavators operating with success at SUEK Khakasia mines.
The hydraulic excavators of Komatsu work under all conditions. Our machines and the people behind Komatsu are motivated by the highest requirements. Komatsu Germany (KG) and Mining Solutions (MS) have an unstoppable success story. Komatsu Germany and Mining Solutions, our distributor in Russia, have a successful partnership in Abakan. SUEK Khakasia`s location is in the southern part of Siberia in the middle of the Russian Federation close to the Kuzbass and the Krasnoyarsk regions. JSC SUEK operates four open-pit mines there, gaining the production output of about 12.5 MT per year. Only two enterprises among them mine coal suitable for export deliveries.
Chernogorskaya Coal Company
- The annual production is about 7.0 MT of high-volatile coal, about 4.0 MT of which is exported as steam coal and sized coal (size: 6-25 mm, 25-60 mm, 60-130 mm).
- Chernogorskaya Ugolnaya Company has its own washing plant with 8.0 MT of washing capacity per annum.
Vostochno-Beisky Opencast mine
- The annual production is about 3.5 MT of high volatile coal, about 1.6 MT of which are exported as steam coal and sized coal (size: 25-50 mm, 50-200 mm).
Before KG and MS started hydraulic excavator deliveries to SUEK Khakasia, the customer has mainly been using rope shovels and also facing problems with production increase as a result of high worldwide coal demand. Therefore the customer’s key request has been availability and production increase at low running costs.
Deliveries to Chernogorskaya Coal Company
The first two KG hydraulic excavators, both PC 4000 E FS, were delivered in 2014. The actual operating hours are about 32.000. The third KG hydraulic excavator, also a PC 4000 E FS, was delivered in 2015. The operating hours are about 25.000. The fourth KG hydraulic excavator, again also a PC 4000 E FS, was delivered in 2017. The current operating hours are approx. 7.000.
All machines are performing very well. Based on Komatsu’s excellent after-market support organisation and close cooperation of local distributors, Komatsu Germany and customers, the last seven years have become an unparalleled success story and a win-win situation for all participants.
Using KG hydraulic excavators, both mine sites have achieved excellent production levels and recorded worldwide production achievements.
Deliveries to Vostochno-Beisky Opencast mine
Two KG hydraulic excavators, both PC 3000 E BH, were delivered in 2011 in 2013. The current operating hours range from 35.000 to 45.000 hours as of late 2018. A new KG hydraulic PC 4000 E FS, was delivered in 2018. The machine is currently under assembly at the mine site.
The PC4000 E FS goes from strength to strength!
Chernogorskaya Coal Company announced in January 2015 a monthly production of 844,000 bcm using a PC 4000 E FS, which meant a world record level for the PC 4000 at that time. Later, in December 2015, this was topped by a monthly production of 1,072,000 bcm and then in January 2016 topped again by a production of 1,075,000 bcm. Chernogorskaya Coal Company announced proudly in August 2017 that a monthly production of more than 1,083,000 bcm using the PC 4000 E FS was reached, which is the latest record level for a PC 4000. This success is unrivalled in this machine class so far.
The PC3000 E FS is on an all-time high!
The Vostochno-Beisky opencast mine announced in May 2015 a monthly production of 751,000 bcm using a PC 3000 E FS, which was a new record level for the PC 3000. In March 2018, its own record was broken when the mine announced a monthly production of 813,100 bcm, still using the PC 3000 E FS and is still the new world record for a PC 3000.
Komatsu Germany, the distributor and the customer celebrated this record at Vostochno-Beisky Opencast mine in June 2018.
Since 2011 KG have sold 22 machines in total to all SUEK mines in Russia. 18 of them are delivered already and 4 machines are to be delivered shortly.
